MAS-SW Supporting Manufacturers
During the past seven years, the Manufacturing Advisory Service in the South West (MAS-SW) has built on best practice offered by lean manufacturing to develop a range of responsive services and programmes.

“Manufacturing is continuously evolving and as such we strive to deliver flexible support which will carry manufacturers along a journey of improvement, helping them compete in the global marketplace, maximise opportunities arising from changing economic conditions and ultimately deliver sustainable success.” Arthur Richardson, chief executive MAS-SW
MAS-SW provide the following:
- Operational Improvement – tailored on-site support enabling manufacturers to adopt lean thinking to improve productivity, cut costs and reduce waste.
- Strategic Support – helping ambitious manufacturers adapt to market changes and turn growth aspirations into reality. This flexible programme enables businesses to identify paths and barriers to growth and develop action plans to ensure sustainable change
- Leadership – strategic and operational leadership programmes to develop the skills and confidence of managers, executives and decision-makers
- Product and Process Development – supporting businesses to develop new and existing products, introduce new technology and improve their development processes, from design through to production
- Supply Chain Development – helping companies engage within manufacturing supply chains to make business improvements across the supplier network.
MAS-SW works closely with manufacturers in the region to help improve productivity and competitiveness. It was set up to serve the manufacturing businesses in the South West that generate wealth and employment for the local economy. Much of this support is either free or subsidised and combined with regional events plus access to a manufacturing helpline, MAS-SW has become an invaluable lifeline for manufacturers in the region wanting to stay ahead of the game.
